In the March of Madness continues here on the podcast as, this week, our very own master of the the macabre and mischief, Marc, brings us another claustrophobic film for us to take a look at.
This time, he brings us the Alfred Hitchcock classic, ROPE starring James Stewart. The film tells the story of two brilliant young room mates, Brandon Shaw and Phillip Morgan, who strangle to death their former classmate David in their Manhattan penthouse apartment. They commit the crime as an intellectual exercise: they want to prove their superiority by committing the "perfect murder"...and see if they can get away with it by hiding David's body in a large trunk and then proceed to throw a dinner party where some of the invited guests happen to be David's father and his fiancee. Also present is their former professor, played by James Stewart, who begins to suspect that something is terribly wrong and that Brandon and Phillip are somehow involved.
Tune in and find out what we thought.
